The Boston Police Department said it was increasing its patrols out in Jamaica Plain at the Stony Brook T stop where Luis Troncosco was killed over the weekend in the Southwest Corridor Park near the stop.This is called locking the barn after the horse is stolen...sorta...
There's no way the BPD could have prevented this. Some crazy person just fired into a crowd. The weather was nice and Troncosco was playing basketball. But showing a presence is the only way the BPD can make the people who live out that way safe.
